It took me so long to figure out what my first post should be about lord it was nerve wrecking. I kept putting it off for days until a lightbulb went off in my head. Exactly what I'm doing is exactly what I should write about (Being Afraid). For all the people out there that are scared to follow their dreams; JUST DO IT! The main factors that contribute to being successful are consistency and a willingness to just put your self out there. Often times I make excuses for why I cant move forward with this aspect of my career or why I cant do something that I've put alot of effort into planning out of fear. I sell myself short before I can even get a response from others but you never know how your bravery can inspire others. I know many of my soon to be readers feel this way so I wanted to share the top 5 things that help me and will continue to help me as I embark on new ventures.

1. Stay Consistent

This one is underlined and bold because it is my BIGGEST problem. If you look at any person you believe to be successful and their social media accounts they all have one thing in common consistency. Whether they're a fashion blogger or selling hair their pages and their appearance are synonymous with the message they are trying to convey. If you are a hair guru your hair must be slayed to the gods like YAASSSS at all times because you are your brand. If you're a fashion blogger besides taking pretty pictures in cute clothes you have to be up on the latest trends and be the go to voice that your readers look to for info on fashion. Your page has a voice and you need to make it as easy as possible for a person to tell what your brand is about by glancing at you or your page. If your going to do something stick to it, dedicate time to it, and above all else love it. Others will notice and the recognition and following will soon grow.

2. Confidence

There are a lot of miserable people out there that feed off the slightest inclination of insecurity. Just looking at some of my favorite youtubers comments and seeing how other regular people are tearing them down for whatever wack hater reason haters have has showed me you really have to have tough skin to progress. You don't want to let 1 or a few or even many haters knock you off your game. Be confident in your abilities!

3. Be your own cheerleader

If I could count how many people tell me they haven't done something because they don't have the support I'd be able to buy the Celine you'll be seeing on Wishlist Wednesday (a segment on my blog) I will pat myself on the back 1,000 times before anyone else. Mainly because YOU live YOUR life to make YOURSELF happy. In the end you have to be able to look at your decisions and be content with the path you chose. The support or approval of others wont mean a thing when you've accomplished something and have made yourself proud. Which brings me to my next key to progression.

4. Set small goals

When you start something its hard to feel like you've accomplished anything especially when you are far far far away from the ultimate goal. Setting mini goals (steps) to help get to the bigger goal and accomplishing them gives me an extra push to keep going because every small goal I conquer brings me closer to hitting the big one. Tell yourself you're gonna post on Instagram twice a day or gain 10 followers this week. Do 1 section of your business plan instead of attacking it all at once and I promise you you'll feel less stressed and happier in the position that you're in now.

5. Try New Things

Sometimes what you thought was for you isn't for you and along the way you find something else that was your real passion all along. Don't put yourself into a box you can do whatever you wanna do when you wanna do it. Leave your options open you never know what new opportunities can come from it.
